Never Be Afraid to Try New Restaurants and Cuisines

About Me

Never Be Afraid to Try New Restaurants and Cuisines

When I was growing up, my mother meat and potatoes for dinner each night. Once a week, we would order pizza from the same pizza place. I never even tried Mexican food until I was 18 years old! I loved it and that led me on a quest to try all of the different types of cuisines out there and I have to say that I love almost all of them. When trying a new cuisine, I don't always love the first dish I try, but I find that after trying a few dishes, I find one that I fall in love with. I think that trying new food frequently can be a great adventure that adds some zest to your life. I plan to post about many foods I have tried and plan to try on my blog, so come back soon!

Three Italian Appetizers To Turn Into A Full Dinner Party

If you enjoy holding get-togethers with friends, you know how important food is in the equation. As a group of friends, you are all likely to have different taste in dishes. The one thing that you may agree on is Italian food. Italian food is full of different flavorings and dishes that range from sweet to spicy. If you want to have a full dinner party with your friends, you should order authentic Italian appetizers from your favorite restaurant (think Villa Romana Italian Restaurant). Here are three excellent finger food appetizers that work perfectly with wine and good company at a meetup.

Bruschetta

Much different than cheese and crackers, bruschetta is one of the best finger foods that you can introduce in a dinner meetup. Bruschetta features toasted bread with an olive oil base. On top of the bread, chopped tomatoes, cheese, and other vegetables; the bruschetta can be created to taste. Cherry tomatoes can be used instead of regular tomatoes in order to give the bruschetta a sweet taste. Spicy seasoning can be utilized in order to provide a tangy taste on the bruschetta. Bruschetta pieces can also be large enough for a few bites, but small enough to pick up and carry with just two fingers.

Caprese kabobs

Caprese is located on the southwest coast of Italy and is known for its good food. One of the most common and popular food choices from Capri is the Caprese salad. The Caprese salad features mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and basil. Picking up cheese and tomato all night can get a little bit sticky, so this is best turned into a kabob for your party. Have the mozzarella turned into balls and placed between leaves of basil and thin slices of Roma tomatoes. If you want to kick up the taste, place these on a grill for a minute or two before serving.

Flatbread and layered Italian dip

Flatbread is an old Italian favorite. Used to make pizzas and other sandwiches, flatbread can be toasted and used as a chip and dip alternative at your party. Along with toasted flatbread pieces, you should serve layered Italian dip that will tingle the taste buds. 5 layer Italian dip is usually made with a sauce and several types of cheese. One traditional layered dip is created with Parmesan cheese, pimento cheese, mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, and pesto sauce. TServe layered Italian dip with plenty of toasted flat bread for your friends to enjoy.
