Never Be Afraid to Try New Restaurants and Cuisines

About Me

Never Be Afraid to Try New Restaurants and Cuisines

When I was growing up, my mother meat and potatoes for dinner each night. Once a week, we would order pizza from the same pizza place. I never even tried Mexican food until I was 18 years old! I loved it and that led me on a quest to try all of the different types of cuisines out there and I have to say that I love almost all of them. When trying a new cuisine, I don't always love the first dish I try, but I find that after trying a few dishes, I find one that I fall in love with. I think that trying new food frequently can be a great adventure that adds some zest to your life. I plan to post about many foods I have tried and plan to try on my blog, so come back soon!

Pros And Cons Of Watching Live Music From A Balcony

When you visit a bar to watch live music, you'll have a choice of several places to sit or stand. Many live music bars have second levels with balconies that can give you a bird's eye view of the stage and the musical act. Balconies can differ from bar to bar. Sometimes, you'll find bar-style seating along the edge of the railing. In other cases, there may be tables or perhaps even standing room in this location. If you're getting ready to see a band and are deciding where you might want to hang out for the evening, here are some pros and cons of watching from the balcony at a live music bar.

Pro: Good Visibility

One of the biggest advantages of ascending to the balcony to watch the band is that you have good visibility from this spot. If the area directly in front of the stage is crowded, you could find yourself in a location that is considerably back from the stage. This might be unappealing to you, especially if you enjoy seeing the performers as well as hearing them. From a spot on the balcony, you'll often be able to look right down to the stage.

Con: Hotter Conditions

Live music bars can get hot when people are dancing and the stage lights are on, and that's part of the fun experience for many people. Because heat rises, you'll often find that hanging out on the balcony can be a little warmer than being down on the main level of the establishment. If you're someone who doesn't do well in heat, you may prefer to be on the ground floor.

Pro: Less Crowded

You'll often find that the balcony is less crowded, which can always be appealing to you and your friends. Bar patrons will often gravitate toward the stage, and many won't even consider going up to the balcony. If the ground floor is packed and you'd rather feel a little more space around you, finding a spot on the balcony might be the answer.

Con: Potential For Slower Service

Some live music establishments have bars on the upper level, but a lot only have a bar on the ground floor. This means that when you order a drink, the server has to go all the way down, contend with the crowds on the way to the bar, and then carry the drink to you. On crowded nights, this could mean that it takes a little longer for service.

Take these positives and negatives into account when you're choosing where to watch the next live music performance at your favorite bar.
